If burgers are your thing, Copenhagen will not disappoint you. What makes an excellent burger? A well-seasoned patty (beef, veggie or otherwise), fresh toppings and, of course, a bun that is neither too dry nor too flimsy. We put burgers joints around the city to the test, and had a few fries & milkshakes while we were at it. Don’t ever say we don’t make sacrifices for you.
If you’re looking for something better than average, here’s our top selection of burger joints in Copenhagen, tested around the city with burger expert Jonathan from Vin Supernaturel:
Gasoline Grill
Another 1950s-style spot that comes with a tray of crinkle-cut fries, a simple, soft potato bun, and a great lemonade. This is yummy, greasy, hand-held, feel-like-a-kid-again (or cure a hangover) food and we love it. For all that, though, their patty is pretty serious and you won’t be hungry again for awhile.

Tommi’s Burger Joint
A “joint” in the truest sense of the word, Tommi’s is a small grill bar from Iceland that serves up classic burgers, thin crispy fries and milkshakes (So. Thick). The burgers fit perfectly in your hand and the glazed wheat buns are just right. Great for a takeaway or a quick sit-in meal. Be prepared to wait in line – although it moves quickly – because this place is pop-u-lar.

Jagger
American-style fast food with a dash of diner and Southern comfort thrown in. These burgers are visually perfect; just try not to drool when you open your box. The toppings are choose-your-own, and the bun and patty are both nicely sized for a full meal. And as much as we love the burgers, Jagger has a few other grade A choices: their fried chicken sandwich and their frozen daiquiris are not to be missed!

Dandelion Burger
In an unexpected twist, renowned New Nordic pioneer Noma ventured into the realm of burgers during the summer of 2020 amidst the first lockdown, offering a delectable creation known as the Popl burger for all to savor. Mikkel Andersen, Operations Manager at Popl & Noma, reflects on the innovative idea, stating, “We contemplated what would universally delight everyone, and perhaps a burger isn’t such a bad idea after all.”
Staying true to Noma’s trademark precision in both cuisine and service, this meticulous attention to detail was applied to burgers, replacing the traditional 16-course menu.
Our tasting experience included the original cheeseburger and the Vegetarian burger, both epitomizing the essence of umami. The Vegetarian burger, crafted from fermented quinoa tempeh, captivated with its unique texture and flavor profile, boasting an almost smoky essence and a subtly meaty consistency—best described as indulgent and unlike anything we’ve encountered before.
Dandelion Burger

Whether it’s the taste or the charming interior, Dandelion Burger prides itself on the art of perfecting the finer points, making it a must-visit destination.
